BETHESDA, MD - Washington Property Company of Bethesda, MD has appointed Bruce McElvein General Counsel. With more than 25 years of experience in commercial real estate and corporate law, Mr. McElvein was previously in private law practice in Washington, D.C., Los Angeles and Lexington, KY. He also has served as an appointee in the administrations of Presidents George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush. Mr. McElvein graduated from Williams College and Vanderbilt University School of Law.
In addition to Mr. McElvein, three other individuals recently have joined WPC’s team:
R. William Mitchell has joined WPC as Construction Manager, overseeing the procurement of construction, design and other services for WPC’s multi-family development projects. He came to WPC from Charron Consulting and has six years of construction management experience. Mr. Mitchell holds a Bachelor of Science degree in architecture from the University of Virginia.
Aretha Orton is a new Property Manager for WPC, overseeing management of the company’s Rockville, MD and Alexandria, VA properties. She has over ten years of real estate experience, managing over 600,000 square feet of commercial property throughout the Washington, D.C. metropolitan region.
Janel Kausner has joined WPC as a Financial Analyst and Development Associate, responsible for supporting all phases of WPC’s development projects. She previously provided historic preservation consulting services for more than 30 successful projects. She holds a Master of Arts degree in historic preservation from Goucher College, a B.A. degree from the University of Delaware and will receive a Master of Science in real estate from Johns Hopkins University in May 2013.
