San Antonio Apartment Association Elects New Board Leadership and Welcomes New Executive Director Kyle Ward to Team

SAN ANTONIO, TX - The San Antonio Apartment Association announced its 2023 Board of Directors during the Installation Gala held at Hyatt Regency Hill Country earlier this month.

The 2023 Officers are:

  • President: Renetta Quintana, Capstone Real Estate Services
  • President-elect: Ryan Baldwin, Franklin Apartment Management
  • Immediate Past President – Victoria Dries-Keeler, CAPS; Churchill Forge Properties
  • Past President – Jennifer Morales, Asset Living
  • Vice President – Chris Brown, Emergency Cleaning Solutions
  • Treasurer – Sunny Giarritta, NRP Management
  • Secretary – Alan Ross, Bob Ross Realty
  • Product Service Council President – Omar Rodriguez, Google Fiber

Returning to the volunteer role, Quintana previously served as SAAA president in 2013 and on the Association’s Executive Committee for more than 10 years in officer and director roles. She has also chaired the Membership, Government Affairs, Nominating, Leadership Lyceum, and Programs Committees. Additionally, she currently sits on Texas Apartment Association’s Board of Directors, has served as TAA’s Executive Vice President at Large from 2018 – 2020, and chaired numerous committees. She has also served on the National Apartment Association’s (NAA) Fair Housing Act 50th Anniversary Task Force in 2018 and has been the local NAA Delegate for the past 12 years.

Quintana is the Regional Vice President at Capstone Real Estate Management. She has more than 25 years of multifamily industry experience across the Texas market. Her work has been recognized with numerous industry awards, including Capstone’s Achievement of Excellence – Property Manager, Achievement of Excellence – Assistant Property Manager, Assistant Property Manager of the Year, and Achievement Award – Leasing.

Additionally, Kyle Ward recently joined the Association as its Executive Director, replacing Interim Executive Director, Celine Williams. He brings extensive nonprofit management experience to SAAA, with past leadership roles at the local, state, and national levels, including the Boy Scouts of America in Dallas and the National Office of Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) in Irving, where he served in a number of roles, including the first Deputy Executive Director.

Prior to joining SAAA, Ward led the largest child advocacy association in the Lone Star state, Austin-based Texas Parent Teacher Association (PTA), as Executive Director. During his transformational 16-year tenure, he led Texas PTA to be the top-performing state association within PTA, growing it to be the second-largest state PTA in the country with 500,000 members, and the recipient of membership achievement awards from PTA National for five consecutive years.

He also spearheaded efforts to build a new headquarters with zero debt; launched a major branding/public relations initiative to reenergize the association and its local PTAs to drive membership growth; expanded PTA's grassroots advocacy presence and legislative agenda; and guided a significant governance model transition to improve the association's efficiency and relevance.

Ward graduated from The University of Texas at Arlington, with a degree in Communications and Media Studies. He is a Certified Association Executive (CAE) and is a past board member for the Texas Society of Association Executives (TSAE).

The San Antonio Apartment Association (SAAA) is a non-profit trade association composed of diverse groups representing and serving the multi-family and rental housing industry whose purpose is to participate in the legislative process, promote professionalism through education, provide a means of communication to members, and support the surrounding communities.

The Association comprises more than 1,500 property owners, management companies and multi-family communities representing more than 211,000 rental units. SAAA membership includes more than 360 supplier companies providing products and services to the local rental housing industry.
