GLENCOE, IL - Design-driven real estate development firm Optima, Inc. today released photos from its first-ever carnival at Optima Signature, a 57-story rental community at 220 E. Illinois St. in the heart of Chicago’s Streeterville neighborhood.
Held on May 21, the event transformed the 7th-floor basketball court and terrace at Optima Signature into a family-friendly festival, complete with games, face painting, costumed performers, a caricature artist, and an inflatable bounce house. The photographs capture residents, guests and building staff enjoying the activities and snacks such as cotton candy, popcorn, and adult refreshments for parents. Between 75 and 100 children and adults attended the event.
“There is a major trend at play among families making the lifestyle choice to raise their children in the city, and at Optima we have made it our mission to create an environment that caters to the needs of both parents and kids alike,” said David Hovey Sr., FAIA, CEO of Optima. “The strong turnout for the Optima Signature carnival was a testament to the demand for family-oriented events that fosters a sense of community and creates lasting memories for residents.”
Optima Signature’s carnival is the latest example of family-friendly offerings at the downtown rental community. The building also features 1.5 acres of active amenity space, including resort-style indoor and outdoor swimming pools; basketball, squash, and bocce ball courts; golf simulator and putting green; a running track; dog park; and dedicated indoor and outdoor children’s play areas. Optima Signature hosts regular family game nights and holiday celebrations, such as gingerbread house decorating, and is home to a Guidepost Montessori School on its first floor, where many residents are enrolled. Egg Harbor Café, a popular restaurant with kid-friendly fare, is also a tenant at Optima Signature, and a Whole Foods grocery store is adjacent to the building.
