MERRILLVILLE, IN - RMK Management Corp., one of the Midwest’s largest market-rate apartment management firms, has been named property manager for Evergreen Luxury Apartments, a 628-unit luxury rental community at 8201 Polo Club Drive in Merrillville, Ind.
Built in 1995, the 20-building property is expected to soon undergo extensive renovations of most apartments, common areas and amenity spaces. RMK will oversee the renovations on behalf of the property’s new owners.
“Evergreen Luxury Apartments marks the second Merrillville rental community we’ve added to our property management portfolio in the past 12 months, which is a testament to the great work our teams are doing as we started managing our first property in the area last fall,” said Anthony Rossi Sr., chairman of Chicago-based RMK Management Corp. “Based on the experience renters have had at our other properties, we know we can make an immediate difference in the lives of Evergreen residents with our award-winning programs in resident service, maintenance and leasing. We also will be introducing our stellar lineup of resident activities and events, which will not only help our team get to know residents and but also help residents meet neighbors and develop a stronger connection to their community, which can be difficult when you have so many residents spread out across multiple buildings.”
The community offers a wide selection of apartment sizes, including one-, two- and three-bedroom designs, measuring 700 to 1,700 square feet. Rents range from $1,090 to $2,020 per month.
All apartments feature in-unit washers and dryers and walk-in closets, while some offer a fireplace or a private patio or balcony. While 34 apartments at Evergreen were recently updated, the remainder of the apartments will be renovated as leases turn over. In-unit updates will include new flooring, cabinetry, countertops, appliances, light fixtures, and washers and dryers.
RMK also plans to oversee renovations to common area and amenity spaces, including updates to the community’s dog park, fitness center, tennis courts and volleyball court.
Evergreen Luxury Apartments is located just off U.S. Route 30 about 20 minutes south of Gary, Ind. Major attractions, employers and retailers nearby include Southlake Mall, Costco, Target and Methodist Hospital, as well as multiple coffee shops, restaurants, gyms and various medical offices. Recreational options include Hidden Lake Park, a public golf course, and Innsbrook Country Club, which are both less than a 10-minute drive from the property. Indiana Dunes Beach, which offers walking trails and beaches along Lake Michigan, is about a 30-minute drive to the north.

The property includes 1,036 surface parking spaces for residents and guests, while residents can reserve one of the 250 garage parking spaces. A pet-friendly community, Evergreen also offers 24-hour emergency maintenance.
