April 29—Arlington, VA—A lease designed specifically to serve the unique needs of off-campus student housing apartment residents has been created by the National Apartment Association's National Lease Program for communities located in Florida.
This new Student Housing Lease addresses issues regarding the definition of parties to the lease, the lease term, rent and charges, utilities, security devices, damages and reimbursement, rent increases, repairs, notices, default by resident and more.
The National Lease Program will launch the Student Housing Lease in California, North Carolina and Georgia in the near future. Leases for the other 37 states in which the National Lease Program currently operates will follow, based on demand and pending legal review.
"We have been looking forward to the launch of this product" says NAA Counsel/Vice President Michael Semko, CAE. "NAA members find great value in the National Lease Program, which has quickly grown to the most widely used residential lease in the multifamily housing industry. It is only appropriate that the program is made available for the rapidly growing Student Housing market."
The National Lease Program is a powerful and easy-to-use leasing technology system that allows an apartment community to save time and money by speeding up the preparation and printing of legal documents. The lease and accompanying addenda cover every aspect of the rental process and are reviewed by expert attorneys to ensure compliance with state laws and local regulations.
Participation in NAA's National Lease Program reached an all-time high in March with 3,362,000 total clicks. More than 160 site licenses were sold in March, the fourth-highest month total ever. An NAA National Lease Program lease page is generated every second.
The National Lease Program is the most widely used residential lease in the country. Customer companies include some of the largest multifamily Real Estate Investment Trusts (REIT) and privately held real estate firms in the country.
